This handy device is a mini digital computer installed in your container. Its only function is to monitor your speed and altitudes. Federal requirements are found in the Federal Aviation Regulations. Most of the regulations relate to the aircraft, the pilot and flight rules. 14 CFR Part 105, however, „Parachute Operations” regulates when and where jumps may be performed and refers to requirements for parachute equipment and packaging. For example, 14 CFR Part 105 (Subsection C) requires that the person packing the main chute or reserve parachute be a certified rigger, meaning they have completed an FAA-approved training course and passed rigorous FAA tests. (c) Unless each occupant of the aircraft is wearing a certified parachute, no pilot of a civil aircraft carrying a person (other than a crew member) shall perform a deliberate manoeuvre that: – parachutes must always be packed separately from other baggage.
